  The DAC solution of the SABRE D18 we used is the 32-bit audio DAC ESS9018 which represents the highest performace in the world.(With ESS patented 32-bit HyperstreamTM DAC architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator, the SABRE32 Reference Stereo DAC delivers an unprecedented DNR of up to 135dB and THD+N of -120dB, the industry’s highest performance level that will satisfy the most demanding audio enthusiasts.)
    After a long time of the R&D regardless of the investment cost,Yulong Audio worked out the product with high performace and good sense of hearing which uses the ESS9018 as the main controll unit.
    The SABRE D18 uses the high-performance transformer with low magnetic flux leakage whose brand is PLITRON from Canada as the driving force. The DAC digital signal circuit uses the extremly low-noise power through the multiple groups of the secondary voltage-stabilizing.The DAC analog circuit uses the high-speed and precise servo voltage-stabilized source.The IV conversion uses the expensive,precise and high-performance op-amp AD8620.The filter processing of LPF uses the expensive,precise and high-performance op-amp AD797.The precise risistances with military specification use the DALE.The film capacitors with multipe specifications use the WIMA.They are selected to match to be used in the LPF.The TPC film capacitor is used as the decoupling and the Panasonic FC electrolytic capacitor is used as the power filtering.
     The benchmark source crystal that is used to eliminate the clok jitter is customized by the crystals manufacturer and its phase noise is very low.In order to achieve the best performance and good sense of hearing,the PCB has been tested for many times to optimize the layout.For example,to obtain the best signal quality,the layout of the digital signal transmission is not directly placed in the PCB, the transmission line of the SMA interface is used as the transmission.
     The SABRE D18 has a small size(250*190*50mm).The shell of the SABRE D18 uses the aluminium alloy mould to stretch the forming and the thicken material.It uses the fine surface treatment technology.(The volume of the SABRE D18 is suitable and compatible with the other SABRED products made by Yulong Audio,such as the headphone amplifier SABRED A18 and the power amplifier SABRED A10.)
     The material selected is nothing but an assurance of the quality,the debugging and designment of the circuit can finally represent the essential of the high quality.The designment of the SABRE D18 is based on our rich experience of the DAC development. With the help of the digital audio analyzer,Universal Table,Spectrum Analyzer,Broadband oscilloscope,and the other equipments,we can analyze the basic performance index of the SABRE D18,debug the reference voltage ,analyze the digital signal and measure the electromagnetic compatibility .After a long time of debugging,we believe that the SABRE D18 can play close to the limit performance of the ESS9018.
      The data is just data, it comes from a soulless machine which has no idea on music In order to move from the cold solid data to touching music playback, we must make acoustical adjustment through hearing test, using the sense of our experience. 
      Yulong Audio has its own acoustical tuning team that is made up of acoustic engineers, senior audio fanciers and experienced music lovers.      Although the SABRE D18 has an extremely extended high frequency response, the voice is no where from harsh but soft and delicate. Combine with it’s full and vivid mid range, and well managed bass, the playback is well-balanced, natural and smooth, it gives the evidence that SABRE D18 is a high-performance DAC with an extreme pleasure of listening.
     Warning Please make sure the voltage selector is set to proper position that can match the actual power supply voltage. Otherwise this DAC might be permanently damaged! Under such circumstance, the warranty is void.
